We are delighted to share the news of our latest project, the Beauty Salon Project ‘Glow & Go'. This project has been made possible with generous funding from the Morrisons Foundation and the Arnold Clarke Community Fund. Our aim was to create a safe and welcoming space for our participants to engage in beauty treatments and activities that would enhance their confidence, self-esteem, and social skills.
'Go & Glow' is designed to provide a range of services, such as hair management, manicures, pedicures, facials, and massages. Our support workers and volunteers are dedicated to ensuring that each participant receives a tailored experience that meets their individual needs and preferences.
We understand that for people with learning disabilities, accessing beauty treatments can be challenging due to the lack of appropriate facilities and the barriers to communication that often exist. Therefore, our project provides a fully accessible environment conducive to the participants' wellbeing and comfort.
The beauty treatments and activities provided through this project offer participants the opportunity to develop new skills and interests, build relationships with others, and explore their creativity. Moreover, the project aims to promote independence, self-expression, and social inclusion. These are vital aspects of a fulfilling life that many adults with learning disabilities are often denied.
Our project not only provides beauty treatments but also creates a supportive community for participants. We are committed to ensuring that each participant feels valued and respected and that they have the opportunity to participate in the decision-making process. Through this, we hope to empower participants to make choices, develop confidence and assertiveness, and build meaningful connections with others.
We are excited about the potential of this project to change lives and positively impact the community. We are grateful to the Morrisons Foundation and the Arnold Clarke Community Fund for supporting our vision and enabling us to make this project a reality.
In conclusion, the ‘Glow & Go’ Project for our participants is a unique and innovative initiative that allows them to engage in beauty treatments and activities that promotes their wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion. We look forward to seeing the positive impact that this project will have on the lives of our participants and the wider community.
