What an exciting start to the week for our amazing participants at Options for Life! We've had a whirlwind of activities that kept everyone engaged, active, and smiling. Here’s a little peek into what we’ve been up to.
Halloween Art Morning 🎃
Our arts and crafts session continued with the Halloween theme, and this time, we created spooky spiders out of card, tissue paper, and pipe cleaners. The creativity on display was incredible, with each spider becoming a unique and excellent piece of art. Everyone worked hard to make the best spooky creations for the season!
Historical Adventure in Lichfield 🏛️
On Monday, some of our participants took a trip back in time as they ventured to the historic city of Lichfield. They explored beautiful landmarks, walked by the river, and admired the stunning cathedral. Inside the cathedral, Ian and Jason had a special moment where they lit candles and shared positive messages. Ian wrote, “Be happy,” and Jason wrote, “Always be kind” — truly heartwarming words to lift the spirits of others!
Community Care: Litter Picking 🚮
Back at home, participants took to the local area for a community litter pick, helping to keep our environment clean and tidy. It’s wonderful to see everyone taking pride in their surroundings and contributing to the community's well-being.
The Green Team’s Hard Work 🌱
Our Green Team rolled up their sleeves and got busy at the allotment! They worked hard weeding and tidying up the space, preparing everything for the winter months ahead. As a reward for their efforts, they harvested an incredible array of fresh produce, including pumpkins, kale, cabbages, and an impressively large courgette!
Ian’s Weekend Harvest 🍲
Speaking of courgettes, Ian visited the allotment over the weekend and proudly harvested a large one for himself. With the support of Shapoor, Ian turned it into a delicious stew in his slow cooker, using meat and other vegetables. What a great way to enjoy the fruits (or rather, veggies) of his labour!
